One of my clients told me a story on Wednesday about her home office that was crammed in a tight corner of her home. She’s currently going through a transition with her web startup (she just fired her developer), as well as in her personal life.
In response to these transitions, she decided to move her desk out into the open space of her living room, she painted the wall in front of it a color that she loves, and she organized everything. Now she actually enjoys working in her home office. She may not have moved very far, but she certainly made a fresh start.
Can you relate to her story? I definitely can…I have a similar story of my own that I’ll share at our first meetup….
If your working location has come to symbolize stress, unmet expectations, failure or disappointment, it’s time to make a fresh start…
…which is the topic of our very first Web Startup 101 Lunch ‘n Learn Meetup Group. It’s set for April 10th at Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant in the Tech Center. We’ll have some lunch and do some networking. I’ll speak for a few minutes about “Fresh Starts” and then open it up for group discussion so you can tell us your story, give advice to others or ask questions.
Here’s the agenda (it’s flexible):
11:30 – 11:50 Network/Order/Eat
11:50 – 12:00 Welcome/Announcements/Topic Intro
12:00 – 12:20 Topic Discussion
12:20 – 12:45 Open Discussion re: Web Startups
12:45 – 1pm Wrap-up, Network, Individual Q&A
It’s limited to 20 people and the cost is $20, which includes lunch, tip and non-alcoholic drinks. I’ll be sending out the menu options when the event gets a little closer.
You can register for the Meetup here: http://www.meetup.com/Web-Startup-101/events/108169922/
I’m really looking forward to seeing you there!
