One challenge a lot of entrepreneurs face (myself included) is that we like to build things, hoping people will come to it and love it as much as we do. This is a flawed strategy. It may work in the movies, but not here in the real world.
In this interview, Sandy Hargrave talks quite a bit about pre-selling BEFORE creating. In other words, sell your product or service before you spend any time creating it. That includes books; courses; physical products; hourly or project-based services…EVERYTHING!
If no one will pre-buy at a discount, and I mean, give you real money, then they won’t buy it once it’s created, either. Create what the market wants, not what you think they need.
This is a very eye-opening episode. Hope you enjoy listening to it.
