After seeing a presentation by Anthony Prichard from NewVideoNow.net over the weekend, I got off my butt and recorded a video. They don’t have to be fancy; they just have to be you.
Video for your business is important! Suck it up like I am and start recording some…NOW!
Why do we like watching crazy people on the internet talking about silly things so much? This morning, I found out why. I went to a networking event at the University of Phoenix and there were several people talking about different things and one of the guys, his name is Anthony Prichard, go check out his website; he talked about video. His website is NewVideoNow.net and he talks about the power of video and why we should be using it in our business and our life in general and there are four things that kind of go into that he talked about. When we are watching videos on the internet, we get the sight, the sound, we get the touch through the mouse and if you have a touchscreen, you are touching it and you also get the emotion, the feelings, you can connect with people if you are watching them in a video. If you are just reading something that they wrote on their blog, there is not a lot of inherently connection worthy feelings there other than may be what they write, but the video gives you all those dimensions in one place. It’s extremely powerful. For the longest time, I had no interest in posting videos of myself on the internet. I am like “Oh jeez, I don’t want people watching me and it’s got to look good, I can’t make it look that good.” It doesn’t have to look perfect. You don’t have to be perfect. You just get on there and you freaking talk about yourself, you talk about your passion, your business, whatever it is, get creative, just be yourself, be authentic, be truthful, and people will want to watch that crap for some reason, I don’t know why; it just is that’s the way we are, we are used to reality television, now we have reality YouTube and people talking about all the crazy stuff that they do. It’s extremely powerful for building your following. Thanks to Anthony Prichard. I finally got off my butt this morning and I am recording a video.
Thank you, Anthony. I really appreciate it.
