My first trip to Las Angeles was a resounding success! And my interview on Business Rockstars with Ken Rutkowski was so cool! They were preparing to shoot a pilot for a TV show so I was one of the first people on their new set. It was designed by the same person who designed Steven Colbert’s set!
You can’t see her, but Amelia is sitting off to the side giving me moral support. She’s been such a great champion for my cause. I’m a very lucky man!
During the call-in segment, we both had headphones on listening to people call in to offer tag line suggestions for Ken’s “Stuck On You” trackable tape product idea. The prize was a copy of my book and I got to choose the winner! Unfortunately, I forgot to autograph the book before I left. Rookie mistake.
After the interview, Amelia and I drove up to see my cousin, Eric Stonestreet. You may know him as Cam on Modern Family. He’s an interview expert, as you might imagine being a famous actor, and he gave me a lot of good advice about how to prepare for interviews and how to connect with people who book interviews. He even reached out to a few of his contacts for me! I’ll keep you posted about those developments as they happen. Eric is a great cousin and a great guy!
Overall, it was a very exciting and successful trip. Amelia and I even met Alyssa Milano! How cool is that?! Next week I’m heading to Vegas for the New Media Expo and then I’m heading back to LA for….well…you’ll just have to wait to hear about that. Can’t give away everything all at once!
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement! If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be embarking on this wild adventure! These are exciting times!
You can listen to the interview here… My part starts at 10:45.
