Classic line from Chevy Chase in Fletch Lives, and I’ll be hearing it next Wednesday…
You see, next Wednesday, I’m to report to what has to be the worst kind of doctor in the world…the Gastroenterologist. It’s time for my second colonoscopy. Ugh.
When you have a family history of colon cancer like I do, they make you get these things when you’re young…and more often.
So off I go to get poked and prodded in a most unpleasant area. Oh, and then there’s the prep. It’s actually worse. Apple juice, anyone?
Meanwhile, my business is growing. We have lots of projects and demanding clients (as I’m sure you can relate). Taking time off for something like this is certainly not what I’d choose to do.
Then there’s the wait afterward. Did they find something? That would be bad. Did they find nothing? Then why the heck did I put myself through that?! Either way, I’m not going to be very happy.
(Don’t particularly care for the thought of anesthesia, either.)
But it’s something I have to do, even though I hate the thought of it and have way too many other important things to do.
It’s easy to take our health for granted when we’re busy living and working, but like my business coach says, “You’re building this amazing life for yourself. It would be a shame to not be here for it.”
And so off I go to meet Ben Dover. He might be a pain in my a** but he says he knows how to save it.
